Diaper Bank Opening

Church, Ladies, Men, Men, Youth
Linder Road church is excited to start our diaper bank, providing free diapers, bimonthly on the second and fourth Wednesdays, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.  The pickup location is inside the main building entrance, accessed from Linder Road, south of Cherry lane. The “grand opening” event on February 8th, 2023 was a great success.  We were able to assist approximately 30 families from the local community by providing free diapers and wipes.  Prayer requests were taken from those desiring us to pray for their special needs.  Biblical and spiritual materials were offered, including children’s Bible story books, gospel of Mark booklets, and other information, as appropriate to the individual family needs. This service is purposed from our love of the Lord Jesus Christ and his kingdom, simply stated as…

Christmas Pajama Party

Christmas Pajama Party

What do pajamas, popcorn, and the Grinch have in common? Answer:  They were all found at Linder Road in the fellowship hall on Saturday, December 3 at the Kids Care Group Christmas party. It was a festive time as over 30 children enjoyed spending several hours together doing some fun activities and eating some sweet treats.  The activities included making Christmas tree ornaments, playing a gift exchange game, and enjoying a snack with hot cocoa, cupcakes, and cookies. As the finale of the party, the animated original film “How the Grinch stole Christmas!” was shown (popcorn included, of course!).  It was a lively, laughter-filled afternoon, as the children made their ornaments, exchanged gifts, and enjoyed each other’s company, forming friendships with one another that we hope will last forever.

The Christmas Celebration - a community outreach event “And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭7‬) These words rang out from behind the puppet theater curtains as a group of teenage puppeteers from Linder Road performed the first of two Christmas-themed plays for the children at the…

Drawing Lesson at Northwest Point Community  A group of Linder teens and families spent the afternoon of September 25th with some of the children of Northwest Point Apartments learning how to draw heros from the Bible.   The drawing lesson was led by Steve Zeller, who taught the group a step by step process to create a superhero drawing of King David carrying his sling in preparation for his fight with Goliath, the Philistine giant (1Samuel 17). After the lesson, homemade cookies and pumpkin bread were served and the children were given bookmarks, activity wheels, and a story booklet of David’s heroic encounter with Goliath.   After the snack time, some of the group kicked a ball around and connected in play with these precious children, many of them being refugees from…
