Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” (1 Chronicles 16:8,34) Just as the first pilgrims gathered to give thanks to God for the blessings of the harvest so long ago, this Thursday most Americans will gather around tables loaded with roasted meats, fall vegetables, crusty rolls, and sweets beyond measure.  Truly, the bounty of this rich nation has enabled it's citizens to flourish! In fact, flourishing is an extreme understatement when the wealth of physical blessings we Americans enjoy are compared with most other people in the world.   Yet in the Biblical view, flourishing is much broader than just the physical, rather our heavenly Father is interested in our heart, mind, soul and strength. He delights in those who commit their whole selves to…anks to the LORD, for He is good! Let’s Talk “Church Growth”

God is good, isn’t He?! We have been so blessed! I cannot emphasize enough how great it is we’re dealing with challenges…because we’re growing. Due to our circumstances, I have been reading a lot lately on the ever-changing subject of “church growth.” It’s really an interesting term. I had a class at Bear Valley called “Church Growth.” There’s a genre of books and literature with the same designation. There are great thinkers, many among the Lord’s church, who are considered “experts” in this field. But, let’s think about this for a minute, shall we? To a person we would certainly remind our friends and families the church is not the building, it’s the people. We would not hesitate to confirm the church is comprised of individual, obedient believers sharing in common faith and fellowship. So, what do we mean when we use the term “church growth”? Are we talking about… dealing with challenges…because we’re growing.
