Friends Day 2022 – Our Reason for Hope

“The greatest love you can have for your friends is to give your life for them.” (‭‭John‬ ‭15:13‬)

Linder Road held our annual Friends Day on September 18th, in conjunction with National Back to Church Sunday, with lessons focusing on the reason for our hope, walking this road together, and celebrating the joy we find in our relationship with Jesus and one another.

Friends, neighbors, and family members were invited to join our morning Bible study and worship assembly, which included songs, prayers, and the message theme focused on the biblical hope we find in Jesus.

In the evening, a fireside devotional and ice cream social was held in the south parking lot where songs of praise, a lesson on spiritual fruit, and a wonderful time of fellowship was enjoyed.  Lively conversation and the happy sounds of children playing together provided a pleasant backdrop as the participants enjoyed the ice cream and variety of toppings.  The weather cooperated nicely and the evening ended with a shared cleanup effort where “many hands made light work” of the tasks!

The underlying theme of the event was a strong reminder that Jesus is the only reason for our hope; he is the friend who was willing to sacrifice his life for his friends, and the true hope is that he invites every individual person to be his friend.

Our prayer and our hope is that you will reach out and grab the hand that he extends through our invitation to come and see Jesus for yourself.

“…there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.”

(‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:39‬)
