Men’s Rally 2025 – Christian Faith for Men

Church
The Linder Road church of Christ had their 2025 Men's Rally under the theme of "Rooted and Grounded". Nearly 100 men attended from throughout the Treasure Valley in southern Idaho. Linder Road's yearly Men's Rally, held at the Linder Road church of Christ, is Linder Road's way to uplift men each year and help them on their journey with Christ. The 2025 Men's Rally focuses on how to grow as a man in Christ. This year, it was lead by Wayne Jones, President of the Bear Valley Bible Institute. Mr. Jones presented a number of different themes. These included themes like raising Christian children, being a strong family leader, helping your spouse, and how to put God first. Of course, besides educational sessions, men who came to the rally also…

Summer Building Update at Linder Road

Summer Building Update at Linder Road

Church
Every quarter, the members of the Linder Road church of Christ like to gather on a Saturday and make improvements. In June, they made huge improvements. On the south side of the building, we had old railroad ties that divided the grass from the gravel parking lot. Those wooden ties were rotting, so we muscled in a row of cement blocks to replace the wood. Looks absolutely gorgeous, and the crew made these changes in the rain, no less. That's the Linder Road spirit at work. Painting our Inside Hallway Inside, we've got fresh paint! Back when we painted our interior (several years ago), one of our hallways was missed by the painters. It was a sore spot for members, so we decided to make a positive difference. A crew…

Ivydale Pie Auction

From beautifully decorated culinary artistry to simple cream-filled pie shells, the scene was a lovely sight to behold at the annual Camp Ivydale dinner and pie auction held at Linder Road church on November 2, 2019.  While our senses were filled with the fragrance and the beauty of these scrumptious desserts and the delicious meal provided, the purpose of the gathering was not to display our various culinary and artistic talents, but rather we were gathered to bring honor to God by fulfilling the instructions of Jesus to go and make disciples, teaching them to obey all he had commanded (Matt 28:19-20). So, how does eating a tasty meal and auctioning pies fulfill the “Great Commission”? The answer is summed up in the history of Camp Ivydale and the ripple…

“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” (‭‭John‬ ‭12:46‬) Jesus spoke these words as he was teaching the people in the temple during the preparation days before the Passover on which he would be crucified. His words were spoken to the unbelieving crowds in broad daylight, and they did not understand what he was trying to teach them. He came to us as a babe in a manger, heralded by heavenly hosts of angels shining with the “light of God’s glory” (Luke 2:9-14). He grew up into manhood, gaining favor with God and men (Luke 2:52). At the age of about 30, Jesus began to travel around his homeland, teaching the people that the kingdom of God had…

Time is of the Essence

Time is of the Essence

The smell of autumn is in the air as the season transitions from the supposedly “lazy days of summer” into the crisp days of fall with its stunning colors and abundant harvest. It’s the season of back to school and booked up calendars in the busy family life where it seems like there is never enough time to fit it all in. The necessities of daily living compete with school schedules, work commitments, family responsibilities, sports, dance, band, bible class, Sunday worship...the list goes on, and the continuing question of how to fit it all in with only 24 hours in a day (and everyone needs to sleep) is a challenge. Truly, time is the essence of this life and regardless of your life situation, there will always be more…
