Widowhood Workshop

Widowhood Workshop

Church
“...Until death do us part.” What then? This difficult and compelling question begins the journey into a subject that is often avoided, frequently misunderstood and inadequately addressed in our culture.  Recognizing this life experience of widowhood and coping with life changes after losing a spouse as a subject needing to be addressed, the eldership of Linder Road engaged Dean Miller to present his “Widowhood Workshop” at Linder Road church of Christ on Friday, June 4th - Sunday 6th. Dean, being a widower himself, is well equipped to understand and teach the material presented from a wealth of scriptures, personal experiences and experts in the fields pertaining to loss, grief, and recovery.  We offer our deepest appreciation to  Dean for the transparency, scope, and relevance of the information he so capably…

Linder Road Celebrates its Graduates

Linder Road Celebrates its Graduates

Church
On Sunday May 16, 2021, immediately following evening services, the Linder road church of Christ celebrated its high school and college graduates. Because our lives were put on hold and last year’s celebration was cancelled, both the 2020 and 2021 graduates were honored! A hearty meal of fried chicken and fixings was graciously served and promptly devoured. This was followed by delicious graduation cake! Youth Minister and Master of Ceremonies Jared McCormick awarded graduates with The Essential Evangelical Parallel Bible (say that 3 times real fast). He then transformed grads and parents into game contestants with some hilarious consequences! The runaway winners were Amelia and Alisha Coleman! This was the first big fellowship since the CDC eased restrictions and folks took full advantage of the opportunity to visit face-to-face instead…

New Mask Guideline for Fully Vaccinated Adults

New Mask Guideline for Fully Vaccinated Adults

Church
The C.D.C. now says it is safe for fully vaccinated people to take their masks off in most indoor settings As you certainly have heard, the CDC has changed its recommendations concerning the wearing of masks and physical distancing, for those who are fully vaccinated. We are glad to announce that we will be following this new mask option protocol for all our worship gatherings beginning Sunday morning, May 16. We would also ask that those who are not vaccinated please continue to wear a mask; but we leave this choice entirely up to each one as you decide in your own mind how best to apply the CDC recommendations. We certainly will not "police" these categories but will rely on the love that we all have for each other…

Fruit of the Spirit

Fruit of the Spirit

Church
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” (‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-24‬) Spring is here and blossoms are opening on the trees, the flowers, and even many fruit-bearing plants like strawberries. Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits.  Even though they’re one of the earliest seasonal fruits, they’re still the result of a growing process.   Strawberries have to start out as baby plants that are offshoots from a mother plant.  Then, they build themselves up from their own newly formed roots and produce blossoms, from which the fruit starts to form.  After the fruit ripens, the strawberries are ready to eat,…
