Roots – July 4th
“He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.†(â€â€Jeremiah‬ â€17:8) According to the Encyclopedia Britannica “a root, in botany, is that part of a vascular plant normally underground. Its primary functions are anchorage of the plant, absorption of water and dissolved minerals and conduction of these to the stem, and storage of reserve foods.†Roots provide many essential functions in the life cycle of plants.
