Summer Building Update at Linder Road

Summer Building Update at Linder Road

Church
Every quarter, the members of the Linder Road church of Christ like to gather on a Saturday and make improvements. In June, they made huge improvements. On the south side of the building, we had old railroad ties that divided the grass from the gravel parking lot. Those wooden ties were rotting, so we muscled in a row of cement blocks to replace the wood. Looks absolutely gorgeous, and the crew made these changes in the rain, no less. That's the Linder Road spirit at work. Painting our Inside Hallway Inside, we've got fresh paint! Back when we painted our interior (several years ago), one of our hallways was missed by the painters. It was a sore spot for members, so we decided to make a positive difference. A crew…

Puppet Show Outreach

Puppet Show Outreach

Church
Linder Road church of Christ youth brought the puppet show to the international community in Boise, Idaho “The wise man built his house upon the Rock, and the rains came tumbling down…“ The familiar VBS children’s song rang out from behind the puppet theater curtains as a group of teenage puppeteers from Linder Road performed the first of two plays for the children at the Northwest Point Apartments in Boise, Saturday afternoon, June 25, 2022.   The puppet show and watermelon treat was a community outreach event which included two plays, hand hygiene training, and a watermelon snack break.  The first play was based on Jesus’ parable of the Two Foundations, more familiar to many as the wise and foolish builders, and included a re-enactment of the parable taught by Jesus…

Singing in The Rain

Singing in The Rain

Church
“All the earth will worship You, And will sing praises to You; They will sing praises to Your name.” (Psalms‬ ‭66:4‬) Anywhere, anytime, God’s people can sing praises to his name.  â€œAcappella in the Park” was planned for Sunday June 12th as a community event where Christians could come together and lift our songs of praise to the Lord!   It turned out to be a stormy, rainy June day, so the venue was necessarily changed to inside the building, however, the agenda was the same - we gathered for a BBQ fellowship and topped the evening off pouring out our praises to the majestic creator of the universe, the living and true God! After we shared food, game fun and festive visiting, everyone gathered in the auditorium to sing praises to…

Be of Good Cheer

Be of Good Cheer

Church
Charles Schulz once created a Peanuts cartoon in which Snoopy is sitting outside in a snowstorm and he is shivering in the cold.  Linus and Charlie Brown happen by and see Snoopy and his condition. “Snoopy looks kind of cold, doesn’t he?” asks Charlie Brown. “I’ll say he does,” responds Linus.  â€œMaybe we’d better go and comfort him.” Linus looks down upon shivering Snoopy and says, “Be of good cheer, Snoopy.” “Yes, be of good cheer,” echoes Charlie Brown. The last frame of the cartoon shows Linus and Charlie Brown walking away.  Snoopy, still shivering, is left wondering what good was accomplished with their words. James gives a similar scenario: “Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I…

Kid’s Care Group Valentine’s Day Party!

On Sunday, February 13th, shortly after Sunday morning services, 25+ children attended the Kid's Care Group Valentine's Day pizza party in the Fellowship Hall. The Dominoe's pizza and various drinks was well received by the kids. Parents and siblings were in attendance and took opportunity to converse while the kids made bookmarks, necklaces, and stainglass (colored paper) artworks. Each child had a prefilled take-home gift bag prior to attending the event. A fun time for everyone.
